DR M

Something I read over the news caught my eye
Former Prime Minister of Malaysia released the following statement on Monday 5th Jan 2009

"Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad today urged consumers to protest Israel's invasion of Gaza by boycotting American products since the United States is Tel Aviv's strongest supporter.

"They will not die if they don't drink Coca Cola" says the former Prime Minister in a press conference today, as he urges Malaysian to make sacrifices to stop the violence in the middle East.

He further believes that if countries stop using US dollars, then the American economy will be jeopardy since "America is a bancrupt nation".

What DR M had forgot to acknowledge in his pledge against American multinationals was that companies like F & N (who produces and sells Coca Cola) keeps thousands of Malaysian employed. F & N in particular employs up to 1,700 people in its Malaysian operation.

So what we should do is to boycott America and its products based on a notional political pledge by the former prime minister and leave the 1,700 Malaysian jobless in light of the worst economic crisis to hit the world since the Great Depression.

Smart.
